Throughout its history, PICS Smartcard Inc. has established a strong track record as an innovator in the fields of electronic identification, smart cards, biometrics, card manufacturing technology, embedded and printed plastics, secure materials and database integration.

PICS has completed major projects for high-profile events such as the Olympic Games, Economic Summits and APEC '97; and the development of national identification programs for the governments of Mexico, Central America, and Indonesia.

PICS was directly responsible for many large projects in conjunction with Kodak including the Mexican Driver's License (1.2 million cards), Kodak Germany (2 million cards) and Central American Voter's Program (5.3 million cards). Over the years, our clients have included the Olympic Games, Disneyland and Microsoft. PICS Smartcard also recently completed large contracts for both Translink and the US State Department, which involved custom software design, development and implementation.

PICS has manufactured and provided millions of custom multi-part cards to governments, corporations, and organizations since 1967. Over this time PICS has consistently applied highly effective skills and methodologies for developing custom identification solutions, and gained knowledge of smartcards, information systems, high-security plastics and the manufacturing of laminated cards and other security products.

PICS has kept abreast of the latest technological developments and features available in card security. RFID Tags, Smart Chips and Biometrics can be embedded into multi-part cards along with proprietary seals to meet global security goals and information storage requirements and create links to access systems.

PICS services over 5,500 regular clients in Canada, the U.S.A., Mexico and other countries, supplying identification systems, supplies and accessories. PICS specializes in the development of custom solutions to solve security and control issues for the following industries:

David Campbell formed PICS Smartcard Inc as Photo-Ident Systems in 1967. Steven Simonyi-Gindele, the current Chief Executive Officer, purchased the company in 1996, and reorganized the staff and operations.
